English is a business, and I’m not talking about money making ventures, I’m talking about the process of building your English being just the same as the process of building a business. There are only two kinds of business – those that survive and do well and those that collapse and never get off the ground. English is the same. There are only two kinds of English – fluent ones and ones that never get make it anywhere.
One of the critical points in business is that you have to keep going no matter what – English is the same. No matter what the situation, you have to have only one thing in your mind – keep moving forward, as if you decide to stop or take a break too early on, you may never get back on track ever again.
One of the great things about business is that once you have been operating for quite some time you have built up quite a lot of momentum, so the chances are if you are learning English and have been speaking it for a while, it will take quite a lot work to stop yourself from speaking English – but be warned, it is possible, so don’t take it for granted.
A great business needs a lot of attention not just from day one but eternally, so too does your English. If you keep moving yourself forward with it, your fluency will become eventually so natural people will be shocked that you never knew the language at birth.
So remember this concept when you are persevering with English, it really is like building anything, you can’t just get to a point and stop, you need to keep on diversifying, challenging yourself and developing your skills….you want to be fluent, not someone who never gets their English off the ground.
